Allow camera and microphone access
Support guide · 2 min read · 3 Oct 2026
Let Platonix use your microphone and camera so you can speak and be seen, and fix it if you clicked Block.
To be heard or seen in an open room or on a stage, Platonix needs permission to use your microphone and camera. Just watching a broadcast needs neither.
You always join muted with your camera off, so allowing access never puts you on air by itself. Nothing is shared until you turn on your mic or camera.
When you're asked
Your browser or phone asks the first time you join a session, or when you tap the mic or camera. Choose Allow.
On the website: if you clicked "Block"
- Chrome and Edge: click the icon to the left of the web address (the site settings icon), set Camera and Microphone to Allow, then reload the page.
- Safari (Mac): open Safari › Settings for www.platonix.ch (or Settings › Websites), set Camera and Microphone to Allow, then reload the page.
- Firefox: click the camera or microphone icon in the address bar, clear the block, then reload the page and allow access when asked.
Still blocked? Your computer may be blocking the browser itself:
- Mac: System Settings › Privacy & Security › Camera and › Microphone: turn on your browser, then quit and reopen it.
- Windows: Settings › Privacy & security › Camera and › Microphone: turn on access for apps and desktop apps.
In the iPhone and iPad app
Open the iPhone Settings app, scroll to Platonix, and turn on Microphone and Camera. Then go back to Platonix and join again.
> In an open room on iPhone and iPad, the microphone must be allowed before you can join. On a stage, iPhone asks when you first use the mic or camera.
In the Android app
Open Settings › Apps › Platonix › Permissions (or long-press the Platonix icon and tap App info) and set Microphone and Camera to Allow. To use a Bluetooth headset, also allow Nearby devices.
> In an open room, if you don't allow the microphone you still join and can listen only. Tap the mic (or the Listening only banner) whenever you want to allow it and speak.
Still not working?
- Close other apps that may be using the camera or microphone (video calls such as Zoom, Teams or FaceTime).
- Check that your headset or webcam is plugged in and not muted on the device itself.
- On a computer, try Chrome or Safari.
