How to schedule a live event
Support guide · 3 min read · 1 Oct 2026
Create a one-off or repeating live session — open room, managed stage or broadcast — set the price and publish it.
Scheduling an event takes three short steps: Basics, Schedule and Review. You can save a draft at any point and come back later.
Before you start
- [Set up your channel](/support/guides/become-a-creator) — you need one to schedule.
- For a paid event, set your payout currency under Settings › Payment preferences.
- A 16:9 cover image (it's shown at 1280 × 720, the same shape as the homepage card).
Step 1 · Basics
- Click Create › Schedule Event in the top bar (or open [Schedule event](/creator/event-schedule)).
- Enter a title (up to 80 characters) and, optionally, a description of what attendees can expect.
- Pick a Format:
- Open room — everyone can speak, share video and join the conversation. Best for classes, circles and workshops.
- Managed stage — you invite speakers up to the stage; the audience watches and chats. Best for talks and panels.
- Broadcast — you go live from OBS or another encoder; the audience watches and chats but doesn't join in.
- Upload a Cover image, crop it and click Apply cover.
- Click Next: Schedule.
Step 2 · Schedule
- Pick the Start date and time — or use a quick pick such as In 1 hour or Tomorrow morning. Times are in your browser's time zone, shown next to the field.
- Choose the Event duration: 30 min, 1 h, 1 h 30, 2 h or a custom length (15–480 minutes).
- Repeat (optional): turn on Repeat this event, click Set up, and choose daily, weekly (pick the days), monthly or yearly, and when it ends — never, after a number of sessions, or by a date. The modal shows the next dates; click Apply.
- Recording & Replay: choose who can watch the recording afterwards (by default Attendees only) and for how long (by default Forever).
- Meeting permissions (open room and stage): decide whether attendee camera and microphone are Allowed or Ask host, and who can share their screen. For a stage, set how many people can have mic and camera at once (up to 15).
- In the Access panel, choose Free or Paid:
- Free — Anyone can join, or Require approval to approve each request first.
- Paid — enter the Ticket price, choose how the 10% platform fee is handled, and set the Free cancellation until deadline (default: 5 hours before). See [Pricing, fees and payouts](/support/guides/pricing-fees-and-payouts).
- Choose the Visibility: Public (homepage, search, recommendations), Unlisted (link only) or Private (invitees only — paste their emails, one per line).
- Click Next: Review.
> Open-room events can also sell a cheaper live-broadcast ticket for people who just want to watch: turn on Also sell a live-broadcast ticket in the Access panel and set its price (0 = free).
Step 3 · Review
- Pick at least one Category (Mind, Body, Soul) and, optionally, tags and languages.
- Check the Live preview card — it shows exactly what attendees pay.
- Click Publish event (or Save draft) and confirm.
You'll get share links straight away. The event appears under Media › My Content, and attendees who registered get reminders before it starts.
Changing or cancelling
- Open the event and click Edit to change details, then Publish changes. Once an event has started, its start time is locked.
- If you cancel an event yourself, every ticket holder is refunded in full automatically.
