About
What does it really mean to discover our true Self? Over the last five days, Pujya Gurudev, Swami Tejomayanandaji, has progressively unfolded the profound vision of Advaita Vedānta. Day 282: The truth of the Self is the truth of the whole world. Day 283: I is pure consciousness, which illumines the inert body and makes it sentient. Day 284: The truth of the Self is the truth of the whole world. Gurudev revisits this teaching to emphasise the vision of non-duality. Day 285: The longest journey is from yourself to your Self. Day 286: Ignorance of the Self is the only reason we feel limited. Once we discover our true Self, there is infinite joy. Today, we enquire deeper into the meaning of ignorance through Bhagavān Ādi Śaṅkarācārya’s commentaries. What is the difference between non-apprehension of Reality and misapprehension of Reality? How do we mistake our limited body-mind-intellect identity for our true nature? Drawing upon Śaṅkara’s teachings and Bhagavad Gītā 5.15–16, we explore how Self-knowledge removes mistaken identification and reveals the truth that was never absent. The journey is not about becoming infinite, but recognising the limitless nature of our true Self. Pause for Wisdom: Ten Minutes of Spiritual Insight – with Jagdish Bramta **Hari aum!**
