The Power of Sound & Breath: Connecting Body, Mind & Spirit. β€” 26 Oct 2026, 13:40 CET

Video by Platonix

The host from Platonix welcomes Manav, a yoga teacher, musician and songwriter based in Rishikesh. Manav talks about how his music and yoga practice came together in Nada Yoga and sound healing. He explains that some mantras are chanted silently, while Beej Mantras such as Om can be spoken aloud. He then introduces Swara Yoga, also called Swara Vigyan, and describes breath as the thread that triggers thoughts and karma. Participants use an open palm triangle to feel which nostril is more active. Then they lie on their right side for a few minutes, and afterwards all find that the left nostril has become active. Manav links the right side of the body to sun energy and the left side to moon energy (Ida Nadi), and mentions the Shiva Swarodaya as the source text. He advises keeping the right nostril active while eating and passing stool, and the left while urinating or drinking a lot of water. He asks people not to just believe him but to watch their own breath. In answer to a question, he says lying on the left side opens the right nostril, mentions the vagus nerve and shows the yog danda used by ancient rishis. Next comes a guided sound meditation in chin mudra. It starts with relaxing the body part by part and noticing that the breath feels cool going in and warm going out. Participants then chant Beej Mantras for each chakra and element in turn: Lam for earth, Vam for water, Ram for fire, Yam for air, Ham for space, Om at the third eye and a final sound at the crown. After that they chant all of them together and picture white light leaving the top of the head. The practice ends with listening closely to one outside sound. Participants describe feeling more aware, deeply relaxed and a strong vibration with Lam. Manav explains that chanting on one narrow band of sound, like the two notes of a tanpura, leaves the mind little room to wander. He suggests chanting along with a recorded tanpura at home. The host closes by sharing details about the Platonix platform.
